Blog #1 : Halloween costume

Asumi Oda
Hello, everyone. This is Asumi.
Well, Halloween is coming in about two weeks!
I don't like ghost stories and all the other scary things, but I like Halloween because of the costumes!
This year, I'm more excited because now I'm making a Halloween costume for my friend!
I love sewing so I enjoy it very much.
I'm making a costume of Cruella De Vil, an evil character in the Disney movie "101 Dalmatians".
I'm using a fur, of course a fake one, for the coat and a black silky cloth for the dress.
My friend and I are looking for a nice red long pair of gloves.
And this is a picture of the fur I'm using.

It's quite fluffy!

My friend said she'll wear this costume for a Halloween concert of her favorite band.

She also said she might come to university with this costume some day, so if you saw someone who's dressed like Cruella De Vil, it's her!
If you're asked what you want to be for Halloween, do you have any character or person or animal or... anything on your mind?
This is a song called "Cruella De Vil" from the movie "101 Dalmatians".
You will see how cruel she is and also you can get some image of the costume I'm making now.

  1. Good evening, Asumi.
I'm really surprised the story that you are making a costume for Haloween. Moreover, you chose to make Cruella De Vil for your friend! I know the character but I havent't seen the movie before. Thank you for giviming me the chance to see 101. I am really looking forward to seeing the costume you are making and your friend with Cruella De Vil!! Happy Haloween♪

  2. Asumi,
The fur you chose looks just like the fur in the cartoon. Please take a picture of your friend wearing the costume for us to see.
It seems you really like to sew. Who taught you how to sew and what do you like making best?
It is really nice of you to make things for your friends. As I am a loser when it comes to sewing, I admire people who can sew. My "skills" are limited to sewing on a button or re-hemming a pantleg that has fallen down, etc.
If I need your sewing help, can I ask you?

  3. Good morning, Ms.MacGregor.
Yes, I'll be glad to help you when you need my sewing help. I guess sewing is the only thing I can help people with.
My mother likes to sew, but she never actually taught me, so I guess I learned by just watching her.
I love making any kinds of things; bags, skirts, dresses... But I love to make something for other people.
I'll show you her picture wearing the costume on my next blog!
